What clients say about us

  • Lesia was my therapist for the Level 2 DUI Education classes and she was incredible! She made us feel welcome and at ease right away. What I thought would be dreadful, I ended up looking forward to. Lesia taught me so much and these classes were life-changing. It wouldn't have been the same without her!

    Briana S.
  • Although the course wasn't directly relevant to my situation, I found it helpful. My goal is lifelong sobriety, and meeting with others weekly to share experiences was beneficial. Alicia led a relaxed, open group, encouraging everyone to share. Overall, it was a worthwhile experience for me.

    Doug O.
  • Melissa was very supportive, respectful, and insightful. She treated her classes with professionalism and showed genuine interest in helping. I was also extremely grateful that your classes were offered on Zoom.

Our Services

5280 Human Care Center is licensed by the State of Colorado, Office of Behavioral Health to deliver Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services in accordance with Section 2 CCR 502-1 Vol 21, Colorado Code of Regulations.

Online, telehealth DUI alcohol and outpatient therapy groups are conducted face-to-face via Zoom, as required by Colorado State law. All groups are weekly, and conducted in a group setting, facilitated by a licensed clinician.

We offer a wide range of services designed to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Our programs include:

Level 1 DUI Alcohol Education

Online Level 1 DUI education classes consist of 12 hours of alcohol education over 6 weeks, unless an alcohol evaluator states that more time would be appropriate based on the individual’s circumstance. Level 1 DUI alcohol education participants are required to purchase the curriculum workbook. Court-ordered DUI classes are weekly and conducted in a group setting.

Important Notes:

  • Level 1 education is generally for first-time offenders who have a BAC under .08%. This course is not indicated for clients who have multiple DUI offenses, refused a breathalyzer, or had a BAC over .08%.
  • Sometimes attorneys refer clients to begin Level 1 Alcohol Education classes before the first court appearance. However, we recommend starting Level 2 education classes if the offense indicates that Level 2 is more appropriate. Level 1 alcohol classes do not count towards Level 2 requirements, so by taking Level 1 erroneously, these classes will not count towards your treatment and will waste both your time and money. Our staff will review the details of your offense to ensure that you are placed properly, regardless of any referral made by someone other than the court, your probation officer, and/or the Colorado DMV.

Level 2 DUI Alcohol Education

Online Level 2 DUI classes consist of 24 hours of alcohol education over 12 weeks. Level 2 education is most often followed by Level 2 therapy. Court-ordered online DUI classes are weekly and conducted in a group setting.

Level 2 DUI education and therapy cannot be taken at the same time per Colorado State law.

Important Note:

  • The Colorado DMV may still require both Level 2 education and Level 2 therapy even if your court case is reduced or dismissed. If you have suspended driving privileges, you may be required to complete Level 2 education and Level 2 therapy to reinstate your driver’s license.

Level 2 DUI Alcohol Therapy

When Level 2 therapy is required, it follows Level 2 alcohol education classes and may range from 6-12 months depending on the track (A – D) assigned.

The tracks depend on the severity of the offense and may be assigned by the probation officer or agency. Fees will vary depending on the track. Court-ordered Level 2 DUI Alcohol Therapy classes are weekly and conducted in a group setting.

See track table for Colorado State guidelines.

Important Note:

  • The Colorado DMV may still require both Level 2 education and Level 2 therapy even if your court case is reduced or dismissed. If you have suspended driving privileges, you may be required to complete Level 2 education and Level 2 therapy to reinstate your driver’s license.

Enhanced DUI Treatment

Enhanced DUI Treatment is indicated when an assessment reveals that an individual may benefit from drug and alcohol treatment that are more intensive than Level 1 or Level 2 DUI Alcohol classes.

Enhanced Outpatient Therapy is for clients that are currently enrolled in DUI treatment and have been referred by their probation officer (PO) and/or attorney.

DUI Continuing Care

DUI Continuing Care is for clients that are currently enrolled in TRACK C or TRACK D, and have completed, or are near completing, 21 weeks of DUI treatment. DUI Continuing Care therapy is designed to provide clients with the opportunity to meet other therapeutic needs once the required DUI curriculum course is completed.

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) is a type of cognitive behavior treatment system that leads to enhanced moral reasoning, better decision making and more appropriate behavior. MRT seeks to decrease recidivism among both juvenile and adult criminal offenders by increasing moral reasoning; resetting the moral compass, if you will. MRT is systematic and implements a cognitive-behavioral approach, which positively addresses a client’s ego, social, moral, and positive behavioral growth.

MRT was selected for inclusion on the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP) sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

Online MRT is generally designed to be 16 weeks but can be longer if milestones are not met.

Anger Management

Anger can lead to problems with friends, family, and at work. If unchecked, it can cause you to lose marriages, friends, and other relationships, even your job. We help you learn how to control your anger so it does not control you. Online anger management classes are weekly and conducted in a group setting.

Relapse Prevention

Relapse Prevention seeks to identify high-risk situations in which an individual is vulnerable to relapse and to use both cognitive and behavioral coping strategies to prevent future relapses in similar situations. The goal of treatment is to help people recognize the early stages of relapse, how to cope with triggers, and how to develop healthy coping skills to manage day to day life without the use of drugs and alcohol. Online relapse prevention is generally designed to be 12 weeks but it can be longer if milestones are not met. Classes are weekly and conducted in a group setting.
